And The 2021 Ontario Rent Guideline Is...

#1 Unread post by Darren » August 12th, 2020, 2:41 pm

My source said this has come up several times. Ford wants to make it 0 (no increase) so he can can try to pacify the tenants/voters. Elliot, Mulroney, etc. agree.

The opposition is from Housing Minister Irwin....um, Clark... who wants to have an increase of some sort even if they don't follow the normal formula due to the 'pandemic'. They are looking at something like 2%.

The corporate landlords have hired big time lobbyists and sending a huge amount of money to the PC government so expect at least "something" so they can raise rents.

Some rogue small landlords have acted like monkeys and the province now is disregarding all small landlord demands. Thanks a lot "protesters" and "sign makers". You really shot yourself in your own feet, as usual. You made us all look like rabid dogs.
