I am also a tenant and to share my experiences, you should have a few conversation to your landlord about the mode of payment. Aside from that, you can ask her some advices or evaluation about the advantages and disadvantages that the apartment has. Then look at the place if it suits the place that you really want to stay. We know it is not that easy to move from one place to another so make sure that you will like the place that you are planning to stay.
