Renters want new windows - want me to pay for them(!)

Renters sent me a text this morning. Usually this means they are late for rent for a few days or something needs fixing.

*SHOCK* today it was something new. They are requesting new windows in the bedrooms. Last I was there the windows were in workable condition. The problem is the house is 50 years old and it's those old "slide" single pane windows that don't have a screen.

Personally thinking they should pay for this as it's a 'cosmetic' repair and just wondering what the experts here would do.
