How Can I Smoke + Grow Weed in a NEW Apartment? (Ontario)

The rules seem to be if you are renting an older place with no rules on this you can smoke freely and grow up to four plants. But if you are renting a new place the landlord can put in rules against this.

This is really f****ing unfair because a month from now it will be legal so why do landlords get to have overreach over the law?

Just wondering what my options are because I'm looking to rent again.
